Adsorption modeling with OpenFOAM ?

Hi everybody,

This is my first post here.

I am currently working on adsorption modelling with FLUENT and i wonder if there would be any kind of limitations or restrictions to do it with OpenFOAM.

Here is a short explanation of the problem :

My geometry is 2D axisymmetric with multiple porous zones and non porous zones. The flow is assumed to be laminar inside porous media and turbulent outside.
Inside porous beds, i need to model evolutions equations for new variables and to include sources terms on continuity, species transport and energy equations.

If anyone had to handle with similar problems using OpenFOAM ( adsorption, mass transfer..etc), please let me know.

Thanks a lot,

Hey Greg,

did you make any progress in your mentioned project?

I m working at university on a very similiar project and i m a openfoam newbie, therefore i really don't know where i should start to create such a solver.

best regards

Dear mmartin,
Have completed your work on Modelling Adsorption using OpenFOAM. I am also planning to do similar simulation using OpenFOAM.

Please share your experience and results if any.

Thank you
