The blocks

Hi guys,

does anybody know what is important if I want to define blocks in blockMeshDict...

If there is an block with 8 vertices, what is the rule to defining the
vertex numbers:
is hex (0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7) the same like any other order of vertex numbers
for example hex (1 4 6 2 7 0 5)?
It is not the same but what is the rule?
Thanks

You have to be aware that there is a vertex numbering rule concerning the local coordinate system of the block.

It is described in the User Guide Chapter 5.3:
http://www.opencfd.co.uk/openfoam/do...#x25-1400005.3

Quote:

The local coordinate system is defined by the order in which the vertices are presented in the block definition according to:

Hope this helps!
