I want to do the simulation of catalytic converter (Selective Catalytic Reduction). For this I planned to do it considering the catalytic core as a porous medium. For doing this I plan to use:
rhoPorousSimpleFoam. I want to simulate the surface reaction too. For this can I integerate dieselFoam?? (or any other...). Please kindly enlighten me on integerating two solvers and creating our own custom made solver for simulating the above problem. Thanks a lot for your patience. JAMES |

Hi James,
My name is Satish and I'm a chemical engineer working in heterogeneous catalysis application. I see that you have in the past tried to develop a solver for catalytic converter. While doing some internet search, I came across this thread. I have just started looking to openFOAM and would really appreciate if I can get to see your solver/case files. I wanted to understand your code, only for my personal use. Would you be able to share an example solver in openFOAM? That would be much appreciated. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you in advance. Satish, PhD |

Hello Everybody,
you can find also an OpenFOAM solver which makes use of the software toolbox DETCHEM. The properties, gasphase reactions and surface reactions are taken from a shared library. For academic use this code is free, for industrial use you have to buy a part of the DETCHEM software. You find information at www.detchem.com. Click on Software on the left side and have a look to the entry "DC4OpenFOAM" in the product list. Greetings matthi |
