Mapping results on points

Hi,

I would like to map results on geometrical points on my boundaries. These results are written in fluent "profile" format, however I could translate the point coordinates and the results to another format as a previous step. Has somebody tried something similar before?

Thanks in avance.

I'm not sure if I understand well your problem but have you tried sampleDict? According to user guide U-169 this is for sampling data in 1D profiles.

Thank you Ancsa,

After reviewing the user guide documentation, I understand that the sampleDict is used to get results on an arbitrary surface (defined by points), isn't it? I am trying to do the contrary, I mean sampling results, which may come from another code, on the walls and impose these values as boundary conditions. It is the same idea of mapFields, however the input data is defined on discrete points instead of cells or faces.

Hi Codina,

I'm sorry I'm too newbie to be able to help you in that, search the forum, boundary conditions can be defined by funkySetFields and with timeVaryingMappedFixedValue but I haven't tried them yet.

Thank you,

I'ill have a look at these utilities and I'ill give you feedback.
