Hej,

I would like to calculate the interface area between air and liquid to implement some kind of heat transfer within the multiphase solver framework (interPhaseChangeFoam). Are there build in functions for this, or does anyone know a code snippet to calculate the area?

For the VOF model, basically you can not get the interfacial area accurately.

Good luck,
Chiven

what do you mean with alpha1*(alpha1) in the equation? Is it just because alpha1 is not a scalar but a field?

where does it come from?

In what respect is the equivalent diameter to use. Computational cell wise, pipe wise, etc. ? What colleague presented the equation?
