faceLimited vs. cellLimited ??

Good morning everyone,

I am writing my Master's Thesis on OpenFoam right now and I made a study concerning different grad- and divSchemes. In order to avoid writing something wrong in my thesis, I would like to ask about the difference between faceLimited and cellLimited gradSchemes. Can anyone explain it, please? What does the factor mean (e.g. faceLimited Gauss linear 1)?
Furthermore, let's consider a divScheme like "Gauss linearUpwind faceLimited Gauss linear 0.5". I understand that linearUpwind is a blending between upwind(first order) and linear(second order). But what specifies how much blending is used and why do I have to specify a gradScheme in order to use linearUpwind?

Hi.
The coefficient [0...1] decides, if you got better convergence(=1) or a more accurate solution(=0). See OF1.5 UsersGuide around p.108 for detailed information.

...I'm interested in your Thesis Paper. I would be pleased, if you grant me to take a look at.

As I unterstood it:
faceLimited extrapolates the values between face neighbours and CellLimited does the same for cell neighbours.
But better form your own opinion.
Just take a look at their source code:

The code shows not much of a difference.
