Fluid - void VOF

Dear all,

I have a question about interFoam VOF. As far as I can see, interFoam VOF is used to capture interface between two phases. I am trying to simulate a liquid-gas system but I am not interested at all in what happens in the gas phase. Has anyone ever tried to develop a VOF solver in openfoam where instead of having a liquid-gas, we have a fluid-void system ( fluid=liquid (vof=1), void=gas (vof=0) ) ? Thus, boundary conditions are in some ways imposed at interface cells. So this is something like a 'single phase VOF'.

Thanks :)

ivan
