DNS two-phase flow

Hello Foamers,

might anybody tell me how I can run two-phase DNS simualtion in OpenFOAM! What I have to do?

Cheers

I think to run a DNS two phase flow you have to use interFoam as used in the dambreak case. But make sure of the schemes you select in the fvSchemes, they should be appropriate for a DNS simulation (second order).

Shall I apply every Gauss linear, make the mesh as small as possible and, moreover, turn LES or RANS off?

Hi
i think Gauss linear is ok but for making the mesh follow some criteria like the theory of univeral equilibrium by kolmogrov explained in Batchelor book and also in the paper
"Direct numerical simulation and analysis of instability enhancing parameters in liquid sheets at moderate Reynolds numbers" Physics of Fluids 20, 053301 (2008).

Also search on the forum for the settings, may be somebody has posted some information for the choice of the schemes. I cannot really tell you because I am working on LES of two phase flows. I have not really tried any DNS for two phase flows, but I am also looking into the possibilities.
