Dear All
I have successfully converted the ICEM mesh to fluent and from fluent to OpenFOAM.My case is of turbo machinery and i have two face of cyclic patch. In ICEM i have given a common name to cyclic patch. When i check the boundary file in polyMesh directory the cyclic patch split in to two patches of different name as PERI1 and periodic_sh. What would be the problem?.If cyclic patch get split then how can i give the cyclic patch conditions to two face. Please help.

Hello,
when exporting a Fluent mesh, you must keep divided the two periodic faces, i.e. give them two patch name. After importing in OpenFOAM, you couple them using the createPatch utility. search in the forum or on your home folder the createPatchDict, where the coupling is explained. cheers mad |
