Higher order spacial derivatives

Hello Foamers,

As a little side project I am looking at the possibility of modeling a reaction diffusion system in openfoam. This system is a "little" complicated as it contains a surface diffusion model with a laplacian of a laplacian and the laplacian of a natural log of a ratio. basically it will look like:

laplacian(constant,(log(ratio of phi(space, time))) + laplacian(phi(,space,time))

1. is it possible to do something like this?
2. can a laplacian of a natural log be performed? I already coded this and found the quick answer to be no, but maybe there are some other methods.
3. should one focus on developing higher order derivative schemes instead? suggestion of source?

Thanks in advance.

Dan
