Dear community,

is there a chance to give out the velocity of each field in ratio to the inflow velocity (standardize) it and make it visible in paraView?

Maybe with foamCalc? But i have no idea about the syntax?

Could someone help me?

thank you very much

Martin

You can choose U at your inlet to be 1, and scale your viscosity accordingly? When you normalize your Navier-Stokes equations, it should be not too difficult.

Thank you very much for you answer.

I do not really understand what you mean. It is a post-process work. So i wont make in inflow of 1. Or do you mean, it is possible to scale this in paraView? If you mean this, could you tell me how to do it?

Well, it depends on what you want to achieven. Of course it can be done in Paraview as well (Calculator of Python Calculator filter). You can also try to solve the non-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations in OpenFOAM, that is equivalent.

Dear Bernhard,

that was helpful, thank you. I used foamCalc to get magU (a scalar) and having this i was able to take the calculator filter to calculate magU/inflow velocity!!!

Thank you very much
