Using scalar fields
Hi everybody!
I have a question. I'm working on a case in which I use only scalar fields such as mass and substance concentration, which change in time. Is it possible in OpenFOAM to work on this case in such a way that I don't have to generate meshes? And is it possible to sample data only in time? Thanks! |

dependencies, is your system, by chance, described by a set of ODEs? If this is the case, maybe, some simple[r than OF] ODE solver is sufficient. Can you describe in more detail? |

Yes, there is no spacial dependencies, only temporal. I'm working in a team on project in biochemical engineering, a part of which is modeled in Berkeley Madonna, and it has only temporal dependencies. However, we decided to move to OF, because in later stages of project we'll have to deal with spatial dependencies too, and BM has no such capabilities. Now I wish to re-model this part in OF, so that at the end the whole project should be in OF. I have a couple of ODEs, and result parameters should be plotted as a function of time. Best regards! |
