Inlet Wall to Inlet Patch
Dear All
I have successfully transfer the mesh from the ICEM to OpenFOAM case.In ICEM i have an inlet but while transferring the mesh from ICEM to OpenFOAM the Inlet was converted to wall when i check the boundary file. I want to ask a question while simulating in OpenFOAM it will take the inlet wall or inlet patch. Or should i change inlet wall to inlet patch in boundary file. Thanks in Advance. |

OF will take it as defined in constant/polyMesh/boundary. Thus if your inlet is defined as wall, it will be used as wall, if it is defined as patch, it will be used as patch. Sounds obvious, does it not? ;) mad |
Dear maddalena
Thank you very much for replying and i got it through doing experiments also by changing the boundary file. Thanks Once Again. |
a question!if i set a face to patch in boundary file.then at blockMeshDict i set its U to a value and p and T to zeroGradient(like a moving wall as in cavity)
Does it produce any conflict?then OF assumes it patch(fluid)or wall(solid)? How about reciprocal of it.mean wall in boundary but patch in blockMeshDict? Thanks. |
Hi,
I did not get what you meant. Anyway: polyMesh/boundary file: wall --> flow cannot go through the patch --> i.e. U = (0 0 0), p = zeroGradient polyMesh/boundary file: patch --> flow can go through this patch --> i.e. U = (10 0 0) p = zerogradient; or: U = zeroGradient; p = fixedValue. hope this help mad |
