Hi all,

I want to conduct a LES simulation of a ducted propeller using sliding mesh. I am running OF 1.7.1.

Can I do this using dynamicMeshDict & mixerFvMesh? What is the appropriate solver? pimpleDyMFoam?

I have read that this kind of simulation may not be possible under this development of OpenFOAM. Is this correct?

Also, regarding mixerFvMesh, is the setup limited to having the rotor inside the stator (like a pump)? Can it be applied to a case where the stator is upstream or downstream of the rotor i.e. sliding perpendicular to the axis of rotation?

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Thomas
