Hi,

I'm a little bit confused now.
I think there are fem, fvm and fdm implemented as discretization sshemas.

But I don't know now which sshema is used in simpleFoam- and chtMultiRegion-solvers.

Can someone help me, please?

Thanks

Best Regards,

Unless otherwise implemented, all OpenFOAM solvers use Finite Volume Methods. From http://www.openfoam.com/features:

Quote:
... OpenFOAM uses finite volume numerics to solve systems of partial differential equations ascribed on any 3D unstructured mesh of polyhedral cells. The fluid flow solvers are developed within a robust, implicit, pressure-velocity, iterative solution framework, although alternative techniques are applied to other continuum mechanics solvers. Domain decomposition parallelism is fundamental to the design of OpenFOAM and integrated at a low level so that solvers can generally be developed without the need for any ’parallel-specific’ coding. ...

I see a lot of topics started by you on the forum recently, but for all your problems have already quite extensively discussed on this forum. By just searching the forum, you can find really a lot of info, because it goes back for years sometimes. You have your answers a lot quicker, then by starting the discussion again. Consider as a useful hint for future problems
