hi foamer
i have a general question! is it possible to have dual mesh in one geometry?
i want to solve u and p in coarse grid and solve alpha in very fine grid to have very accurate interface,
any hint?

You can do so with OpenFOAM. However, you havo to do fileld at different time step. When do the map, use meshToMesh class.

Regarding use two diffent meshes within one solver, just see the chtMultiRegionFoam solver.

From what you've said, I'm guessing you are using interFoam. Why not use interDyMFoam to adapt the mesh at the interface to keep it sharp?

thank you! i have used interDyMFoam before hand, actually i used a modified version of interFoam with dynamic mesh which considers boiling, but as the interface is diffuse the number of cells get too high and it needs dynamic mesh refinement in every iteration which is time consuming! so i guess maybe there is a way to handle dual mesh simultaneously a coarse mesh for u and p and a finer mesh for alpha1

Hi nimasam

I am working on the same idea like yours in this thread. Curious to know whether you got success or not. Right now I am struggling with the interpolation thing between grids. I am using meshTomesh0.H
