Setting the Velocity Field

I am working on a project in which air speed readings will be taken around a room using handheld anemometers, and then that data will be collected and plugged in to simulate the airflow in a room (a fan will be used to stimulate the flow). I have been trying to use OpenFOAM to set up a model of a room and set air velocity at different points in the mesh, but have not been able to figure out how to do it. While researching this problem, I have just found how to set the velocity field at the boundary, which is not what I am aiming to do. How can I set the velocity field at different points within my mesh?

If you have a fan at those locations, then you need a source term for momentum in the Navier-Stokes equations. Just 'setting' the velocity, is not a viable approach in my opinion.
