I'd like to model a tribological system. The two boundaries are soft solids, and I know openFoam can model the deformation of those surfaces. What I am not clear on is whether or not openFoam can model the case when the distance between those two surfaces changes during the simulation. Mesh components would either need to be created or deleted during the simulation (depending on the lift force generated by the fluid flowing between the two surfaces).
I made my best effort at searching for an answer, but I unfortunately don't have the correct terms to distinguish between my question and the more common question of how to handle free surfaces. Thoughts? |

I found the following information on dynamic meshing:
https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/H...mic_mesh_cases Anyone with experience with that? |
