Hi Foamers
I want to simulate a circular cylinder. I used gambit for making mesh. and I converted it without any problem. but during the solve, I get unusual value for Cd and Cl. I checked Aref and it is correct but I do not know what the problem is ? plz help me |

Hi dear Amir
two points: 1) after you import your mesh, use the command "check mesh" and look the result, is it fine? 2) u may use non hexahedral mesh, so maybe you need to use different schemes in your fvSchemes, so try different schemes in ur fvSchemes 3) for non-orthogonal you can increase the correct number in fvSolution maybe it helps |

Quote:
first: it seems everything is fine, did you check whether your simulation is converging or not? second: Are you sure the calculation of Cd is right? if answer to both aforementioned questions are yes then i suggest first turn of the turbulence and check whether it returns reasonable result for laminar case or not |

Hi Nima
my case is laminar not turb. tanx it seems that the value of residuals cannot control the loops. and after 1 iteration the pimple loop for Uy exited. I have changed my loop corrector in Fvsolution and it seems more normal value. |

Hi
your simulation may be done in low velocity and it may be fall in low Reynolds number, and it is a laminar case! but i asked you to change the turbulence in the constant folder into laminar to omit all turbulence calculation in your case! However im glad you reach a reasonable result |
