Visualizing Raw Data

2 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone,

I have what I think is a simple question but cannot figure it out. I want to visualize raw data in paraview (attached is a sample of what I want to create a contour plot of). Right now my process is as follows:

1) File->Open
2) Filters -> Table to Structured Grid. Change whole extent to (0 1, 0 1, 0 0) and set x-y-z columns
3) Contour Plot. Isosurface range from 0-3 (10 steps), color by scalar.

The output I get is attached. I want the output to be a 2x2 grid that is contoured by my "scalar" field. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I know it is a simple example but it will be much more complex later.

Thanks!

2x2 grid? do you mean cells or gridpoints?

convert to vtk?

Hi,

maybe you can convert it to a vtk-file first, as explained the third post in:
http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/par...tml#post418052

Then it should be possible to use contours.

Best regards,

Andy

isosurface or isoline?

i don't think you can get a iso-surface since you have only a surface. contours will get you isolines.
