initiate Paraview on a server

Dear all,

It's the first time that I use a server to perform CFD simulations and I have a newbie question. So far I have visualised my results simply downloading the VTK files from the server. By the way I would like to know how I can use paraview remotely on the server. I tried to connect to the server using ssh -X and I loaded the module paraview but the command line "paraview" is not recognised. Can you tell me how I am supposed to use paraview properly and how I can visualise my results remotely? thank you

best regards
Luca

Hi Luca,

I Googled:
Code:

paraview server
And got these:
In a nutshell:
  1. Launch "pvserver" on the cluster as if you were running a solver in parallel.
  2. While the "pvserver" is running, open ParaView on your local workstation and connect to the master node on the cluster.
  3. Then operate ParaView as if it were opening files on the local workstation.
The details are on the links above.

Best regards,
Bruno
