Iso_Concentration Contours

1 Attachment(s)
Greetings All

I know how to put Iso-Concentration contours of for-instance temperature (T=400), on another variable slice.

However, My question is:
1- How to put the value of contour (Here 400) on its line as a label?

2- Can we change this solid line to broken (dashed lines)?

Any hint is appreciated.

I have uploaded a desired pic. I want to have my iso-concentration contours like the attached pic except as a dashed line instead of solid line with the values attached to lines as labels.

Regards
Bobi

Hello Bobi,

i think the lines are not a problem to deal with (contour filter).
To the annotiation I found the following hint:

http://www.mail-archive.com/paraview.../msg00503.html

Seems that its possible to do exactly what you want.
But I can not find the field to show the annotiation.
Maybe you can figure it out.

Otherwise you had to place it by yourself (Source -> Text)

Greetings Tobi

Many Thanks from your link. I found that the Selection Inspector should be activated from the VIEW menu. However, as I learned and tried, it only works on 3D sections. If user wants to have labels on a 2D contour plotted over a 2D slice of another variable, It seems that the only option is text putted manually.

Hello bobi,

thanks for your hint.
Its although possible for 2D slices but I did not figure it out just to show one number.

See the attached picture.

Greeting Tobi

It seems that you were successful with 2D slices, But from on-line tutorial and my own tries, the action was inactive for 2D slices.:(

I did my labeling from source->text that was so much easier (Unlike the answer in the link) than the selection inspector gadget.:D:):D

Thanks again from your help.

Greetings to all!

Took me a while to figure out what on Earth you guys were talking about :) A nice detailed description of all steps to reproduce the issues would have come in handy...

Anyway, attached are the images that tell the story how this can be done:
  1. In the first one, is shown:
    1. In the "Pipeline Browser" is the sequence of items open, starting from from the cavity tutorial's ".OpenFOAM" file, on to the section-cut (aka Slice) and then the Contour, with the ranges used (the chosen field was "p").
    2. In the middle top is the 3D image.
    3. In the middle bottom is the spreadsheet, with all points selected from the "Contour1" entry. Simply click on one of the rows and then use the key combination "Ctrl+A" to select all points.
And yes, you can manually select only a few of those points/rows.
    4. On the right is the "Selection Inspector", which is accessible from the menu "View". Keep in mind that you might need to first use the button "Create Selection", before step #3.
  2. In the second image is shown the missing details configured in the lower right corner of the first image.
Best regards,
Bruno
