Extract Points along a polyline

Hi,

I want to know how do we extract points along a polyline as we can do in TecPlot. We can do in Paraview along a straight line, but how to do along a curve.
My problem is I want to plot the flow properties along the NACA aerofoil curved surface.

Thanks.

Greetings Ashwani,

Here are two threads from which you can find possible solutions for your problem:
The other possibility is that once you have your curve, you can simply use the "Plot Data" filter or use the "File -> Save Data" menu entry to export the data to CSV.

Best regards,

Thank you for your reply. I am sorry for replying late.
I found it difficult to apply the method suggested above, as I had multiple blocks in that region. Thus, I have different zone sharing the curved surface area.

At present I am continuing with tecplot. I use in it Extract points along polyline. This is similar to the paraview command of plotting which is only for a straight line.

with regards,
Ashwani

Hi Ashwani,

Mmm... the filter "Merge Blocks" could help. The downside is that it might require a considerable amount of memory to perform the operation, depending on the complexity of the case.

Best regards,
Bruno

Thank you this works. I am having a problem with deciding about x-axis. I want in terms of x-co-ordinate. I would check with cgns file format solution and report it.
