Question Paraview Multiblock to time

Hi everybody,

I'm working on datasets in *.plt format and try to postprocess them in Paraview. In general, this works fine except the fact that my data has different timesteps and Paraview reads them in the Multiblock structure. If I use the "extract block" filter I can access the different zones (timesteps), but if I want to create an animation, I need to convert this multiblock structure somehow to the timesteps.

Does anyone know how this can be done?

Thanks in advance!

Pete

Quick question: Sorry to have to ask this, but how exactly did you open "*.plt" files in ParaView? Or at least, with which reader?
In addition, if you could provide an example pack of files that demonstrates this, it would help, because that form of data organization isn't very common in ParaView.

The best I can think of is to use the "Animation script" feature that ParaView has got. One such example is this one: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...tml#post446333 - post #6
At least in theory, the script would have to switch on and off each multi-block, depending on the current time snapshot being shown.
