Hello to all,

I would like to set a 3D view of a phase from a two-phase flow simulation from Fluent. I want to be able to "see" the volume fraction of the liquid phase and the outlines of the mesh, as if the channel where water flows was transparent.

In fact, I want to obtain something similar when we plot the volume fraction of a phase in Fluent and unselect the option "Filled". Please see how it looks in the images attached.

Can anyone advise me how to do it in Paraview? I believe it is something quite easy for a regular user of this software, but i have been trying for a while without success.

Thank!
Rui

Hi Rui,

You can create the outline by firstly applying Extract Surface filter and then Feature Edges filter.

To show only part of your volume where the fraction is above some delimiter value, you can use Clip filter. Set Clip Type to Scalar and Scalars to the name of your volume fraction array. Then just choose reasonable delimiter value.

Mikko

Thanks a lot Mikko!

I just got it to work by following your instructions. Image attached.

Best regards,
