vorticity bug?

Hi,

I have a point data set (csv) and want to calculate the vorticity out of it. My steps are:
  • import csv
  • table to points filter: assign X,Y,Z
  • calculator: create velocity vector
  • vorticity: either compute derivatives or python calculator (curl function)
Neither of these 2 filters work, both make ParaView crash. I'm using Windows 64bit and tried several ParaView versions (3.14, 4.4, 5.2)

csv- and state-file can be found here:

Any ideas?

Thanks
Marco

Hi Marco,

I think that you have to have a mesh to calculate gradients in ParaView. You can try to use Delaunay filter to create tetrahedral mesh.

Best,
Mikko

Hi Mikko,

thanks for your answer. It seems to work more or less and leads me to a question about the Delaunay filter: How can I avoid that "outer angles < 180 degree" get merged. (see pictures)
