liquid film thickness

Hi foamers,
Can any one of you tell me how to find liquid film thickness over a flat plate in paraFoam
I was able to generate an iso surface for liquid film but I'm struggling to find its distance from the wall boundary
any help please

Hi phani45,

One solution could be to use the "Select Cells On" (short command -> S), select the region of interest on the liquid film iso-surface, and then open a Spreadsheet Layout. If you then show the "point data" of this Iso surface and select the filter "show only selected elements", you should be able to see the coordinates under the column "Points".

Otherwise could one a bit more time consuming solution be to use the "Ruler" (Sources -> Ruler) and position the two points between the distance of interest.

Cheers

Thanks it works :)

Good! What one also could do to get a visual representation is to apply a "calculator" filter on this iso-surface, and compute the film thickness.

With this approach you can then compute an averaged film thickness or the max/min thickness with the "DescriptiveStatistic" filter.

Cheers

Calculating Liquid Film thickness

Hey, I just read this post lately...

The discussion was so similar with my problem..
Currently I'm simulating 3D Falling Liquid Film on the outer surface of a vertical tube. I am so confuse to calculate the local film thickness and the average film thickness...

Can anyone help me with this issue?
