Paraview and CFX transient files

Hello,

I am trying to post processing transient simulation done in ansys cfx to paraview.
So far i only manage to export cfx solution file to ensight, and then open the file with paraview.
But this way i get only one timestep.
I want to see all the timesteps files in one file, so i can do animation.
Someone know how to do this?
CFX files for transient simulation are trn files, they can't be read by paraview..

Also is there a way to integrate paraview with ansys benchmark?

Thanks

Have you solved this issue? I am currently considering using ParaView for transient simulation done in Ansys CFX.

In case you are still interested in viewing transient results from ANSYS CFX in ParaView here is the solution (same as for steady state cases).

1. After your simulation has finished open CFX-Solver Manager
2. Tool > Export Results
3. Select the result file you want to open in ParaView, this will load all timesteps automatically
4. Depending on the variables of interest you can select the Output Level (1-3)
5. Make sure you export the files into a new folder as a huge amount of new files will be created.
6. In Ensight Options select the Ensight Version "Gold" and the ASCII format
7. The exported results can then be opened in ParaView by simply loading the Ensight case file.

Important to notice:
The process of converting to Ensight files will take a long time.
My 50GB transient .res file expanded into a 400GB file for Ensight with an Output Level of 1.

If anyone knows how to reduce the file size please let me know.
