Hello,

I have imported a stl file that is created with Autodesk Inventor and copied it into a directory of my openFOAM simulation for later use with snappyHexMesh. Before I do anything I view the stl file in paraview, but the top down view of the geometry does not seem to be straight. I can tell because my part is rectangular, but the edges of the top down view are not straight at all.
This has never happened before, the stl file looks alright in Inventor.

When I open the stl file in another computer with paraview, the part is displayed correctly. What is wrong?

Hi,

What is your view set to? Is "Camera Parallel Projection" selected? If not, select that and see if the new view shows your geometry to be as you want it to be.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

That was the solution! I completely forgot that the parallel projection option existed...
Thank you very much!!!
