Plotting Electromagnetic field evolution.

I am starting using Paraview beyond simply plotting vector glyphs, and have some questions about which filter, or stack of filters fit my needs when making particular output.
As a source: I have a data-set with vector E-field evolution in time, where the mesh grid is fixed in time. And technically I can acquire H-field data, but it is not there initially. 1) not important any more 2) - Phase of Ez component of the vector (E-field vectors rotate according to elliptic polarization, linear polarization is a particular case) And plot equiphase surfaces with contour. Any visually correct approach would fit. I can try calculating Poynting vector (see question 3), for simply making "asin(Norm*|Ez|/|S|)", if there's no way of extracting the phase from the vector motion. So, I don't know how to extract Magnitude of the vector and a Phase 3) If possible, I want to plot a Cross-product of the E-vector with specified direction vector (manually defined, or H-field). Technically, I want to compute a Poynting vector field, in order to locate the focal sources of the field. 4) Instead of equipotential contours, I would love plotting semitransparrent mist/clouds, depending on the magnitude of the field.
