Hi all,

I am new at CFD. I have done some simulations through Simscale and visualised them in the Paraview.

I would like to extract the 3D view from Paraview to integrate it another 3D on 3DMax.

Can anyone help me on the issue?

Cheers!

Hi Bilal,

have you tried "file -> export scene"?

There you can chose from a number of file types, such as .x3d.

Hopefully 3dmax can read one of those.

Felix

Hi Felix,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I tried exporting the scene as x3d and vrml. However, both of them didn't work with any CAD tool.

Do you have any idea?

Cheers!

I think it's important to know what you are trying to achieve.

If you want to export data from ParaView to a CAD software to render it there, you might want to look at Blender (there's a lot of tutorials on how to Render Paraview export in Blender nicely).

If you need Geometric data to then further manipulate them using CFD, looking into ways to export as .stl or .vtk seem to be most promising.

According to the autodesk help page, 3ds max should be able to read vrml files, but I have to actual knowledge of the software.

Best regards,
Felix
