Hi to everyone,

I am using interPhaseChangeFoam to simulate the phase cavitation inside the nozzle in OpenFOAM. I found out that To plot alpha vs time graph using foamCalcEx with volIntegrate is one way and i did it. But i would like to ask that does anyone know how to plot this graph directly inside paraview when i view the case?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Duong,

Sorry again to late answer. As i said i am great busy with PhD thesis stuffs. As Noraa said that it is one way to get alhpa vs time. Another and simple way is to use foamCalcEx volIntegrate.

How to use this is explained here: https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib_foamCalcEx

Hope this helps.

Hi to everyone,

I have some problem with ploting over time. I'm using OpFm and Paraview over 3 months, but can't understand how using "plot variables over time" or "plot selection over time".
I'm solving "damBreak" problem by InterFoam solver, so i need to plot changing of "alpha1" over time in certain plane. For now i trying to use "sampleDict", but it write only the data in separate files, so this is not very convenient.
I can't using foamCalcEx, because my version of OpenFoam (OF-Ex 3.1) is not supported. And I read this topic http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...-paraview.html, but I see that my version of Paraview is 4.3.1...
Can someone explain to me in details how to use Paraview for solving my "stupid" problem?

P.S.: sorry for my english.
Thanks for all,
DzhoniD

Hi,

I have used foamCalc with different options. One of them is

Code:
foamCalcEx volIntegrate alpha.water -latestTime
but it seems that it calculates the 0 time even after specifying another time, like following:

Code:
Create time

Create mesh for time = 0

Time = 0
    Reading alpha.water
    Calculating volIntegrate(alpha.water): domainIntegrate(alpha.water) [0 3 0 0 0 0 0] 3.34545e-09

End
Does anyone knows the reason?

Cheers,

Elham
