Hello everybody,

My overall goal is to plot the mass flow averaged total pressure along the direction of flow so i can calculate k loss factors for ducts. I think that is what has been done in this paper https://www.researchgate.net/publica...rios_using_CFD and i want to replicate it.

This is an image from the paper summarizing what i'm trying to do >
totalpressurevsdistance.PNG

I think I can get the mass flow averaged total pressure for a slice of my domain (perpendicular to the direction of flow) by doing something like this >
https://public.kitware.com/pipermail...st/037661.html.

But i want to see how the mass flow averaged total pressure varies as i move along the direction of flow, not just at one slice.

I was imagining some way of plotting the 'integrated slices' along a line.

I guess i could manually create loads of slices and integrate the total pressure on each slice and then plot the data points. But this isn't ideal.

Does anyone know how i could do this?

Thanks
Olly

Hi olly,
I think, this could be done by using the "Programmable Filter". I could check it, if you provide some sample data.
Best,
Damian

Hi Damian,

Ah, that does sound like it might do the job. I've never used it before though. I'm quite new to this, what would be the best way for me to upload the sample data?

Thanks
Olly
