ParaView Post Processing: Vectors, Streamlines, Contours, Iso-surfaces and Iso-volume
Dear CFD enthusiasts,
Before processing data and graphs using ParaView, it is important to process visually the general behavior of the flow, through investigating vectors, streamlines, contours, iso-surfaces and iso-volumes. In the link below, I am showing how to display these parameters in both 2D and 3D cases. https://youtu.be/fnawxr0WLJU |
unit of Q in Paraview
Hye, can anyone tell me the unit of Q in the ParaView of OpenFoam?

Q criteria has the units of 1/(s^2)

Paraview drawing order / layers
Watching your video, I still have a question about streamlines.
In paraview, if we create a streamline object in the tree, we can show or hide it from the view. We can also show/hide the original contour plot. Is there a way of changing the drawing order of these? When I enable both the contour plot and streamlines, the contours are plotted over top. In essence, is there a way of changing the drawing order ("bring to front" the streamline plot). Just curious if you've run into a solution to this. Cheers! [Edit]: Found the solution: I'm using a 2D mesh for OpenFOAM, but it still needs to be 1 element thick. Because of this, there is a z depth in paraview. If I change the streamline Line Parameter such that the z dimension is precisely on the front face (start and end z value are 0.001), the line appears in the foreground of the contour plot. Hope this helps anyone looking for the same. |
