Hi. I was wondering if there was a way in Paraview to extract the midspan (or any specific span) surface for a centrifugal pump system that comprises of an inlet pipe, inducer and impeller. I’m familiar with doing this in ANSYS CFD Post, where you define a turbosurface, and the software then extracts a continuous surface (see attachment), which is quite convenient.
Appreciate your time and help! Thank you. |

Unlike Post which seems to get spanwise coordinates from somewhere along the pipeline, Paraview has no, lets call it "topologic knowledge" of your geometry. Therefore I assume you have to either script something or define this midspan surface geometry in CAD. If you have CFD Post still available, I guess you can export there the spatial coordinates of this surface and use that in Paraview to sample your data; however I guess you are switching from Post to PV and do not have access to Post anymore?
