car park fire simulation
 
Hi

I am doing fire analysis for car park ventilation and considering 4MW.
Transient analysis of 1800 seconds and time step of 900 generates more smoke and its not evacuating.Scalar value of SMOK is 1

Did anybody did car fire simulation in phoenics?

Please explain in detail how to proceed.

You should use the FIRE object in Flair, and make sure that the data in the Smoke Settings panels is set properly. You need to specify the heat source, maybe as a function of time, then make the mass source heat-related, then make the smoke source mass-related. You should use a time step of 1s, maybe 2s at the most. Hope that helps.

How many iterations per time step can be considered..

And also I want to do Carbon monoxide simulation.

I want to solve for CO throughout the area of basement.

Can you tell me any inform I how to write,If so please tell me.

Hello, if you use the FIRE object you have all the options to activate the SMOK (which will be your CO concentration). You can also add manually a source of concentration release through the "Solve pollutant settings". Also you have the possibility to not use the FIRE object and introduce yourself through objects and INFORM the desired amount of heat and CO release. In fact with Phoenics, you have several ways to do the same problem.

Hi,

I am doing CO simulation as follows.

First Airflow with all jet fans and exhaust fans active all the time and simulation runs for 1000 to 2000 iterations depending upon convergence.

Then running a transient in which I store the velocities and pressures (but do not solve them), and only solve transiently for C1.

Now the value as shown in image {marked red } has to be solved throughout the domain.

Any inform is there to mention ??If yes can you tell.

else any other way to do CO simulation.Simulation time steps for 30 minutes..

Yes that's fine. Switch on CO with the "Pollutants" panel ("Models" menu). You don't need Inform. Specify the source of CO by fixing the value at the first time step, using a Blockage object made of Domain Material. Use a fairly short time step with a relatively small number of sweeps per step.

Dear David thanks for your reply.

But what I am modelling is

I am injecting the CO value at time of 1 minute.

Then the simulation runs for 30 minutes.This change of CO will be seen throughout the domain.

If I provide blockage with domain material and it will be placed at some location,I will find More CO concentration in that particular region and other places its be normal.

PS:In fluent we can provide CO per area through code and it will solve throughout the area.I am expecting like that.
