time dependent mass flow rate

can anyone help me on how to give time dependent mass flow rate in inform.
My geometry is in polar coordinate system and is 3m long. The inlet is at z=0 and i have to specify mass flow rate varying with time. I have created a patch and tried the following statements.
(source of p1 at patch is win*rho1)
(source of w1 at patch is win)
the solver is running but i am unable to achieve the expected results. Can anyone help me

Thank you

Hi,

You will need to write the following for specifying a mass flow:

(source of p1 at patch is coval(fixflu,win*rho1) with area)
(source of w1 at patch is coval(onlyms,win))

You will then need to apply a time varying component to the simple statements above. A simple sinusoidal function can implented as below:

real(denin,pi,omega,period,uin,mflow)
denin=1.
pi=atan(1)*4
period=1.0
omega = 2*pi/period
uin=1.0
mflow=uin*denin
(initial of p1 is mflow)
(initial of u1 is uin)
(Source of p1 at inlet is coval(fixflu,mflow*SIN(omega*TIM)) with area)
(source of u1 at inlet is uin*SIN(omega*TIM) with onlyms)

Thanks
