I'd like to use PHOENICS to simulate coal carbonization behavior in a coke oven. It's an unsteady problem for the coking process lasts more than 17hrs. the simulation should include the temperature profile of coke, the volatile flow behavior and so on at any instant during the coking process and the coke oven is 14m long, 0.4m wide and 4.6m high with a charge of some 21 ton. Is there anyone who would tell me if it's possible and what I should pay attention if it's possible.

Hi Rosella,
My new project is all about coke oven process using OpenFOAM.
To start with it, go through all basics - mainly references of Merrick, D. Fuel, 1983, 62: 534~561 - 6 papers..
