EDDY BREAK UP MODEL (COMBUSTION)

What is the significance of the vriable "MIXF" in the "EDDY BREAK UP MODEL". And what is the difference compare to the variable " FUEL". I thank you for your interest.

Re: EDDY BREAK UP MODEL (COMBUSTION)

FUEL = the mass fraction of unburned fuel, and MIXF = the "mixture fraction", ie the mass of material originating from fuel, per unit mass of mixture, regardless of whether it is burned or not.

More information can be found in a useful lecture at http://www.cham.co.uk/phoenics/d_pol...s/lec12-22.htm
