PHOENICS 3.3 to TecPlot 8.0

Hello all,

I am attempting to view my phi data in TecPlot, except when I run the conversion software provided by CHAM (photec.bat) the data does not properly translate formats. I was wondering if anybody has successfully executed this translation. Here are the steps I take when I do this unsuccessful translation from PHOENICS to TecPlot.

1) On my PC, I run PHOENICS to generate a formatted PHI file.

2) On my PC, I copy the PHI file to the directory where the program Photec.bat resides. a) I tell Photec.bat that the main data file type is PHI(0). b) I enter the file name of my PHI file. c) I choose not to enter a PATGEO file name d) I choose to write the cell-corner and cell-centre values.

3) I goto my UNIX box and run TecPlot8.0 with the xxxx.dat file the Photec.bat program just gave me.

4) The values for some calculated variables are wrong.

I am running a single phase simulation where I solve for temp1, C1, Vx, Vy, Vz and Pressure. The values for temp1 are altered moderately and the values for C1 (a scalar used to denote a second gas species in the domain) are totally wacky. I have no clue as to what the problem with the translation is, but I manually compare the values from VR_Viewer to TecPlot and they are totally wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

vr/ Matt

I use a unskillful method. export the values in all mesh in .result file. Then copy and change it to the format of data of tecplot.

Sear,

You can ask Mr:

* nitin <nitinkd@yahoo.com> or

* Baizh.sun <cdybz@263.net>

I sent them a fortran program which done by my self. It transfer the PHI file to tec.dat file .

Also you must open and correct your .dat files with EDIT on msdos command.
