How to generate the grid for a 3d object?

I want to simulation the pressure field of a roof in the flow field, but the shape of the roof is complex, I don't know how to generate the proper grid for it. In the phoenics applications album, I find a case which is very interesting, the path of the file is phoenics\D_POLIS\D_LECS\CAR\CAR.HTM, I'd like to know how the grid of the car is generated. Thank you.

use ICEM CFD or GriGen, that's enough.

Is it possible to load data files from Gridgen or ICEM into Phoenics? and how to do? Thank you.

Ben,

Have read in POLIS about body fitted co-ordinates ? It basically allows you to place the grid on the blockage as opposed to in the domain.

Also have a read about the partial solids treatment feature, under the EDIT -> Domain -> Geometry menu. This feature allows phoenics to handle blockages, within the grid better.

I hope this helps.

Leon
