meshing
 

hi i was wondering if somone could help me im trying to simulate a HGV in a wind tunnel and have been told to make the meshing around it very fine and everywhere else quite spaced, but the regions are made on the egde of each object created which is too close to my object, as i would like them to be about a meter or two away. Is there any way to delete the region made when making the object and creating them anywhere in the tunnel.

I am not quite sure if I complete understand your question. However, when you creat an object, it does creat a region around it, and you should be able to create an object without this region. You can do this in the VR editor. If you double-click on the object to bring up the object dialogue box, there is a question 'does object effect grid'. Put this to 'no'. You can then creat a 'null' type of object and place it where you want to creat the finer grid. I hope that answers your question.

If you want more control over the mesh I would suggest to: In VRViewer, select the object and set the option - do you wnt this object to effect the mesh to no.

Then you can structure your mesh a bit easier.

I would suggest that for this type of application it might be wise to look at PARSOL - detail in POLIS or on CHAMS website. It allows Phoenics to handle geometry of objects with a CFD cell more accurately for the grid size.

Also take a look at inserting a fine grid region. This allows you to set a mesh say 1m x 1m x 1m for the entire domain and then in the fine mesh region this can be divided down into 0.1m x 0.1m x 0.1m if you like.
