Seems like a non-positive argument to base-10 logarithm was encountered in your calculation.

Its sound like what Rami says. It could be caused by your ground coding or possibly by your setup, not that its worng, but maybe your relaxation is too loose...this type of thing.
I have found this to occur sometimes with some of my cases and I generally try circumventing it without thinking too hard by tightening relaxations, changing mesh distribution etc. If you can't get the run going after playing around with the front end, then if you have a compilable version, you could get the code into a debugger to find the line where it crashes, this can often through enough light on the problem area to give you a clue without too much thought. For example it may point to the culprit variable etc and you can guess that perhaps its causing problems as, say, part of a wall function calculation. If its too much of a problem getting the code into the debugger, try switching on debug mode from the menu, options like flag=T will tell you what file its crashing in and you could put some print staements in. If you haven't got a compilable version you could switch on debugging mode. |

I should add that if the error is in the closed earth code then getting the code in the debugger would be a waste of time, so perhaps using the debug options is a more profitable route.

I often get this kind of error and it is often fixed by doing more relaxations. I think the PHS solver needs some more handling of errors built in. I wanted to propose to CHAM that they write a subroutine into PHOENICS to check the solution matrix for instability related to mesh size, relaxation, etc. That would be useful to non-engineers (like me) who use PHOENICS.
