Come on guys!!!

Maybe a q1 file was too much, some advice would be very appreciate, I have seen some papers, but I don't get a clue how to start, I wish to know how to fix the height of the bed, what kind of properties must be given to body being used as bed, etc.

thanks all

FC

Hello Frasier,

Concerning your first e-mail, you can evaluate hight of the bed and the other geometric issues using some known expressions in open literature. I would try Perry, for instance, looking for fluidized bed.

Concerning the simulations, you may use IPSA or ASLP or even GENTRA depending on what you want.

Get a solved example from the literature in order to test your model. I don't think that it will be difficult to find such an example (probably Perry has one or two).

Hope this helps you. Feel free to ask for more specific information. I think that this forum will be more useful for you at this more advanced step.

Good luck,

Carlos.

A fluidised bed will have a high void fraction and so you will need to use the two-phase Eulerian-Eulerian approach, i.e. IPSA=T in PHOENICS.
