Earth generated wall function

When using low reynolds number ke models(LB) Is it necessary to set EGWF=F or PHOENICS will automatically take care of it if it is set EGWF=T. I tried both, there is little difference between two cases.And also even for EGWF=F, wall function options are still valid. What does that mean. Thank you
