Phoenics Vs Fluent

Please comment on using phoenics

I have been using fluent for couple of years and as It is extremely expensive, our company is looking to buy phoenics, how hard is it to learn and is it as capable as fluent.....?

Well, I don't know FLUENT, but there are folks here who do use it. They told me "It can be broken." I know the PHOENICS folks have been very responsive to my needs - fixing/modifying code as I needed it. I think in the end, it depends on what you will be using the code for. I don't really know, but I believe all the codes have similar engines, the primary differences are in user interfaces and how easily one may set up a problem.

PHOENICS V2006 (or 3.6.2) is very powerful with many new features such as general PAOSOL, MOFOR, INFORM, transfer object, etc. You should consider PHOENICS as your first choice.

Hi kumar Well i m at present using both the softwares but wat i feel is that FLUENT is more user friendly & more flexible to be used by anyone as it is very elaboratively designed to meet nearly all tha existing problems. So i will suggest u to try FLUENT in place of PHOENICS

Hi, Here are my views. Cost wise, I think PHOENICS is much cheaper. If you do the tutorials PHOENICS will no longer difficult to handle. The pre& post processor have been improved a lot and much more user friendly. But some problems having multi-features cannot be solved as it is, like FLUENT can do.
