Importing DXF files into PHOENICS 3.5.1
Hello, I'm having trouble importing DXF files into PHOENIC's VR application.
I'm able to "import" them and see the surfaces made with the 3dface command, however, when I try simulating them, the program outputs very strange results, whether or not I have placed a 3d wireframe cube enclosing every 3dface.. I've been able to import STL files but I really need to be able to import DXF files. If anyone has a sample dxf file that works, I would appreciate if it could be sent to me (my email is lanjoe9 [AT] hotmail [DOT] com) to analyze it and figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thanks a lot in advance |
Re: Importing DXF files into PHOENICS 3.5.1
HI
I had the same problem, but i never succeded to import a dxf to the vr. What i did is, exporting the dxf to 3dstudio where i converted it to a solid, then save it as .stl and then import it from the viewer. It works, at least for me,i imported quite complex geometries. Its been quite usefull in order to import terrain geometries or batimetries. |

Hi there,
I am new to PHOENICS. As you have all discussed on this matter, I am facing this problem here where i am not being able to import either a stl or dxf file into PHOENICS. the only thing appear is just a cube. I wonder what is happening to it. Is the number of faces really matters? Please advise me~! Thank You. |
