porous modelling
dear all.
i want to model a horizontal plate in phoenics having large number of holes in it using porous media approach. The domain fluid is air which is flowing past it perpendicular to it.how to do it in VR editor.plz help.. Moreover, further to extension of this problem,on one side of plate if there is fan having fixed flow rate and other side an array of electronic chips(assume thin plated generating heat),how to model this using porous body approach....also how to calculate the pressure loss coefficients.. plz help..i am new to phoenics... thanks in advance what is the difference between surface porosity modelling and volume porosity modelling and how they are implemented in phoenics?any link or help will be highly appreciated |
Hi abhime,
You can use as PLATE as object and then switch FULLY BLOCKED in the attributes panel to NO and specify a porosity. If you use the question mark at the top right of the window and click with this on the FULLY BLOCKED input, you get help on the specification. I am not sure if volume porosity is a standard feature of phoenics. As far as i know a blockage doesn't have the porosity option good luck Quote:

you can set it as porous media given that you set blockage->domain fluid!
