I need urgent help about Phoenics 3.5 Hope to see him/her

Hi to all!

I am so new at Phoenics 3.5 and I need help about my questions :
All my questions are 2D.

1) Geometry > Grid Mesh Settings > X direction settings > Power law
independing on what I have to decide about Power Law here?

Time by time I will add my other questions starting from 2)

Thanks from now on

The power law/geom prog can be used to refine the grid locally, so that you dont need a fine grid in the whole domain, but only in regions with e.g. high velocity gradients. As far as i know, you can freely change the coeff. of the power law as long as the size of adjacent cells do not differ to much. Values i found for this in literature give a max factor of 1.4 for the size difference for adjacent cells. So
(1.4^-1) < (x-dimension cell 1)/(x-dimension cell 2) < 1.4
ans the same goes for y and z.

Good luck
PS: why do you use such an old version of phoenics?? Current version is phoenics 2008.

Thank you very much for your help Koolifant ,
that really helped me.
and about your question I use that much old version of Phoenics because my collage has this one because they have a class license and thats probably connected with the cost.

Take care and again thanks for your answer
