I want to create a hybrid mesh.
Is it possible in Gridgen to have a linear change of the distance of the first gridline to the wall along one coordinate axis? I want to consider a strong acceleration of the external flow along the axis and therefore the diminution of the boundary layer. Hence the distance of the first griline to the wall should get also smaller. Any ideas? Best regards and thank you very much! |

The answer is "it depends." It depends on which method you're using to generate the mesh and how rigidly you want to enforce the linear decrease in cell size. For example, if you are generating a structured grid near the wall all you have to do is change the spacing constraint on the vertical edges on either end of the wall to the desired values and the interior spacings will be a linear interpolation between them. This holds true even if you smooth the grid using the elliptic PDE solver. That's just one example. Because there are so many other options it's probably best if you contacted our tech support engineers directly at support@pointwise.com.
